During this time, our translator, Natalia, goes back to her home, about 100 kilometers outside of Kiev, and we are basically on our own in Berdyansk. The day we present all documents to a judge and have trial to determine if Roman can become a Lambert. Our appointment was at 2:00 p.m., so we got to sleep in a bit (except for Natalia, who had to go to Zaporosha at 4:00 a.m. to get our final SDA documents off the train at 6). Not a lot -- just enough to be pretty. Nice and wet, so snow balls are easy to make.  We went to  Bethel Church, a congregation of about 65 people, for worship this morning. It started at 10 and ended about noon. The pastor is Ukrainian and spoke in Russian, but is fluent in English as well. All appointments are set through December. The Ukrainian government recognizes New Year Day as a national holiday. They celebrate Christmas on January 7.  They typically take several days to observe Christmas.
